Local lawmakers discuss gun safety measures - Atlanta News, Weather, Traffic, and Sports | FOX 5

A coalition of lawmakers and supporters of proposed gun safety measures gathered at the state Capitol on Friday.

Atlanta City Councilman Kwanza Hall joined state lawmakers to discuss measures aimed at implementing background checks for gun purchasers.

Lawmakers said they also plan to introduce a proposal to ban military assault style automatic weapons.

The group will also propose a resolution this session to urge Congress to enact measures for universal background checks.
