Public pool to open at MLK Middle School - Atlanta News, Weather, Traffic, and Sports | FOX 5

There's a new option for people who enjoy swimming on Atlanta's east side.

The Martin Luther King Natatorium was shut down because of deteriorating conditions, so the city of Atlanta and Atlanta Public Schools partnered to build a new pool. It's inside Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School.

The pool opens Monday morning. Crews also transferred workout equipment from the old MLK Natatorium and built a new fitness center at Grant Park Recreation Center for public use.

The pool is available to students and the public.
