A Georgia man was arrested on three separate DUI charges in one week, police say.

James Allen Campbell, 59, was first arrested at a BP gas station in Monroe on Feb. 2 for suspected driving while under the influence. Campbell was taken to jail, where he posted pre-set bond.

Within a few hours of being released, Campbell was arrested on another DUI charge in a Monroe parking lot.

"Less than six hours later, the same deputy observes him turning into the parking lot without his seat belt on," said Chief Deputy Keith Brooks of the Walton County Sheriff's Office. "It was a surprise to him that he was able to make contact with the same offender in the same day in such a short amount of time."

Several days later, Campbell got a third DUI less than 1.5 miles from his home.

"I had a blackout," Campbell told FOX 5's George Franco. "I haven't drank anything since. I'm quitting."

Public records show that Campbell has gotten six DUIs total since 2007. His license was reinstated in September of 2012.

Brooks said that Walton jailers released Campbell on pre-set bonds that increased with each dui. He also acknowledged they could have called the presiding judge who could have kept him behind bars.

"Maybe we can do a better job if we see somebody come in a second time, within a five or six hour period that we should contact the judge," said Brooks.

Campbell said that he's looking into going to rehab. He said that he lost a daughter to a DUI driver in 1992.
