Weather delays flights at Atlanta airport

The severe weather caused some delays at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson airport on Wednesday.

The FAA says the airport experience some hold and departure delays ranging from 30 to 45 minutes. For updates from the FAA, click here.

FOX 5's Morse Diggs said that the weather has forced cancellations of departures to places such as Baton Rouge, Knoxville and other points west.

There could be more delays and cancellations as the severe weather continues. Travelers are urged to check their flights before leaving for the airport. To check your flight time out of Atlanta's airport and delays, click here.

Flooding on I-85 south at Camp Creek Parkway slowed traffic around the airport. All exit lanes were blocked as the water drained. The road was reopened around 5 p.m., according to Diggs.
