CARROLLTON, Ga. (AP) - A gun rights organization has challenged ordinances in the west Georgia city of Carrolton and in Carroll County which it says unfa8irly restrict the right to carry weapons.
Handwritten letters, dated Friday, were delivered to officials with the county and city governments. The letters challenged two city ordinances that say firearms can't be carried on the Greenbelt Trail and that prohibit firearms from being carried by parade participants. The organization GeorgiaCarry.org. also said in the letters it was challenging a Carroll County law that allows the commission chairman to suspend the dispensing and transportation of firearms and other items at times of emergency.
