Philadelphia Police Special Victims investigators are now looking for two suspects in the Monday morning abduction of a 5-year-old girl.
Meanwhile, dozens of recruits with the police academy spent Wednesday going door-to-door handing out flyers in a four square block area near Bryant Elementary on 60th and Cedar Avenue in Cobbs Creek.
Investigators say the little girl was walked to a nearby house by a woman seen on surveillance leaving the school. Police say once taken to the house, she was restrained, blindfolded and kept under a bed for hours.
"Suffice to say this little girl suffered conditions no child should endure" said Capt. John Darby of the Philadelphia Police Special Victims Unit.
The girl, who FOX 29 is not identifying because she is a victim of a crime, was found about 4:40 a.m. by a passing Good Samaritan huddled under a playground sliding board at an Upper Darby playground more than a mile from the school. She was found wearing only a t-shirt given to her by her abductors.
Police describe the woman in her 20's 5-5 to 5-8 who is possibly pregnant. She has a thin build, greenish eyes and dark skin, possibly going by the name Rashida.
Investigators say she was taken to a nearby home and once inside the woman was joined by a male accomplice.
"What we do know is that he was inside the residence and joined this female abductor in restraining this child through the night into the next day" said Darby.
Police say the family is cooperating with investigators. FOX 29 has also learned that Philadelphia Police and the State Police will meet next week to look into how they can improve response times to Amber Alerts.
