WARNER ROBINS, Ga. -
At the Museum of Aviation's World War II Hangar on most Wednesdays, visitors don't have to read the placards scattered about to learn history. They can hear it directly from a man who lived through it.
World War II bomber pilot Frank Cross, who turns 92 in January, is not only the oldest volunteer at the museum in Warner Robins, but also holds the museum's record for most volunteer hours.
Cross has worked more than 13,000 hours, and that doesn't count time he put in before the museum started keeping track.
Besides flying planes in World War II and Korea, Cross also was an aircraft mechanic. He helped restore planes at the museum until he was 75.
