3 interviewed for interim school superintendent

ALBANY, Ga. -

Three interim school superintendent candidates have been interviewed by the Dougherty County school board as the group looks to replace former superintendent Joshua Murphree.

State officials in early December scolded the district over fiscal oversight. Officials have also said a few dozen educators at 11 Dougherty schools either cheated or failed to prevent cheating on standardized tests in 2009.

The Albany Herald reports Roy Brooks, of Little Rock, Ark., is a candidate. Brooks has served as superintendent in Sumter County was CEO of eStem Public Charter School. He was also superintendent of Little Rock schools between 2004 and 2007.

David Mosely served as superintendent in Glynn County and in Vidalia.

Franklin Perry, served as superintendent in Twiggs County between 2006 and 2009, and Sumter County between 2002 and 2005.
