Friends, family and colleagues remembered a Clayton County police officer killed in the line of duty.
Officer Sean Callahan died Tuesday after being shot in the head. The 24-year-old was shot while arresting a man at a Stockbridge motel.
Dozens of people turned out for a visitation at Pineridge Memorial Park in Kennesaw.
An honor guard unit from the Atlanta Police Department was among those who attended.
"Well, it's a lot of responsibility that comes along with the title. At the end of the day, he was doing his job, which is to protect and serve," said Officer Donald Hannah, who serves on the APD's honor guard with his father.
Ross McTiernan and Kermit Tyler said they graduated with Callahan from Lassiter High School in 2006. They said that he always said he wanted to be a police officer.
Officer Callahan was so eager to serve and protect that he commuted daily from Cobb County to Clayton County. He was the first police officer to die in the line of duty in the Clayton County Police Department's 84-year history.
Callahan's funeral is set for Friday at 11 a.m. at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta.
