Some Decatur residents have voiced their opposition to the city's annexation plan, which has since been scaled back.
DECATUR, Ga. -
The Decatur City Commission is expected to vote Monday night on a scaled-back annexation plan. But after hearing howls of protests from residents, the plan does not include some areas that had previously been under discussion.
All News 106.7's Connie Cummings reports that City Manager Peggy Merriss will make her recommendations to the city commission to annex two smaller, mostly commercial areas-- one on the northwest side of the city and another on the northeast side of the city. She says they've responded to the opposition from residents.
The commission will vote on a resolution asking the DeKalb County delegation to sponsor legislation in the upcoming session of the General Assembly approving their annexation plans.
