Thousands of boys and girls will spend Christmas in the hospital. While they will be getting great care, there is something else they need.
Children's Healthcare of Atlanta will be helping send messages of hope to patients and families throughout the holidays and one special little boy who has survived two heart transplants is making sure he is spreading his message to never give up.
Lex Money can now play around on a playground. The 4-year-old boy's heart problems have held him back until now. He had two heart transplants and three open heart surgeries.
The Money family spent last Christmas in the hospital and they could not seem to take their eyes off the one thing that brought them comfort.
It was simple words of love and encouragement that scroll across the screen to let patients and parents know they are not fighting alone and the Money family said they could not wait to send their message to patients this Christmas.
Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is hoping over 10,000 people will submit holiday messages this year. And Verizon will be donating $3 to the hospital for every message sent.
