Residents in one DeKalb County neighborhood say they're on edge after more than a half-dozen home break-ins have happened in recent weeks. Some of the most recent crimes were caught on tape.
DeKalb police hope someone recognizes the man in surveillance video they released from one house in the Kingsmill subdivision. They say the crime happened on December 5, right after the homeowner left for evening Bible study. The homeowner spoke to FOX 5 but asked not to be identified. She says her security cameras caught the man stealing thousands of dollars in property, including four computers.
If you look closely at the video, you'll see the thief unscrew the security lights before he breaks in. Then, he opens the window to slide into her home. Fifteen minutes later, he walked out with the homeowner's duffle bags stuffed with everything he could fit inside.
Police confirm the burglary was the eighth one reported in the subdivision in just the last two months. They're trying to determine if the same man is responsible for the other crimes.
