Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is warning people to beware of scams using its name.
Officials say one of the most common is a recurring one in which a scammer is using the airport logo and asks the recipient to send cash so that a dog or animal can be transported to them.
Another uses the name of a top airport official, claiming that your bag has been left at the airport and contains a large sum of money and you can get it for a fee. The scammer will also ask for personal information to prove ownership for the money, but is really going to steal your identity.
Hartsfield says all official Department of Aviation emails will have an "@Atlanta-Airport address. Everything else is fake.
