A Smyrna police officer has been suspended without pay following a weekend arrest at his Cobb County home.
Investigators say Darryl Whitfield faces multiple charges including simple assault and simple battery. He posted $11,220 bond and was released from the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
Whitfield is an eight-year veteran of the Smyrna Police Department. An internal investigation is ongoing.
