How to Choose the Perfect Christmas Tree
Purchase a Christmas tree that is being kept in a shady, protected area
Christmas trees that are in a parking lot get direct sunlight, which dries the tree out
Look at the Christmas tree from all angles to make sure it is uniform and there aren't broken branches or grabs
At Pike Nurseries the Christmas trees are hanging so you can spin the trees - convenient and fun!
The Christmas tree should have a healthy green color
When you run your hand along the branch of the tree, the needles should hold fast and be flexible
A Christmas tree with stiff and brittle needles is too dry and will turn brown and drop needles
Christmas Tree Types
Fraser Fir
The most popular Christmas tree
Short needles and highly fragrant
7-foot Fraser Fir for 29.99
Flocked Christmas Trees
If you want to create a white Christmas, choose a flocked tree
The flocking seals in moisture so you don't have to water the tree
Pike Nurseries has pre-flocked trees available at all stores or you can have a tree custom flocked
Silvertip Fir
A hard to find tree
Often referred to as a Charlie Brown tree since the branches are widely spaced
The ultimate tree for decorating with large ornaments
Nordman Fir Christmas Trees
The most common Christmas tree in Germany & Norway, but new to the United States this year
Branches are evenly spaced and very strong
Perfect for hanging large or heavy ornaments
