Police are trying to find a 16-year-old boy they say jumped out of a special needs school bus on Friday afternoon.

The Cobb County Police Department in release Saturday stated that Wilford Hardnett was last seen around 4:25 p.m. Friday, walking eastbound on Dallas Highway towards Lost Mountain Park.

They believe he was sighted just after 6:30 p.m. in the Lost Mountain Park area and again Saturday morning in the area of East Paulding Drive in Paulding County.

An active search has been going on since Hardnett's disappearance.

He is described as being just over 6 feet and weighing 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Hardnett was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and black sneakers.

Anyone who may know where he is or has spotted him is asked to call police immediately.
