A car struck a school bus outside Lithonia High School on Monday.
The collision occurred at Creek Ford Lane and Phillips Road, not far from the high school.
The 17-year-old driver of the car was being checked out in an ambulance. His mother, a teacher at the school, said that he was leaving with the school with a friend when a car stopped in front of him. He swerved to avoid the car and the pole and collided with the bus.
The 17-year-old complained of back injuries and arm injuries. His passenger was also checked out.
A student on the bus did have a bandage on her face but seemed fine and talking, FOX 5's Denise Dillon said.
His mom says she is extremely relieved that no one was seriously hurt.
