Police say Officer Richard Halford and Officer Shawn Smiley were flying late Saturday night looking for a runaway child when they hit a power line and crashed at the intersection of Martin Luther King and Hamilton E. Holmes Drive.
The family of Officer Halford will receive visitors Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church. His funeral will be held Friday at the same church at 11 a.m.
