2012 Veterans Day Steals and Deals

Veterans Day is November 11, and many businesses are offering special deals for military service members, both active and retired! Here are some of the deals that may be offered in the metro Atlanta area.

NOTE: Most companies will require some form of military ID. Acceptable ID may be a military ID card, a Current Leave and Earnings Statement, a drivers license with veterans designation, a photograph in uniform, be wearing your uniform, a veterans organization card, a DD214 form, discharge paperwork, or some other form of identification.  Other restaurants and companies may go by the honor system.  It's a good idea to call ahead to see if the area franchises are offering the Veterans Day deals.

Restaurants:

Applebee's is offering a free meal to military veterans and active-duty service members on Veterans Day, Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012. There will be seven entrées to choose from, beverage and gratuity not included. Military ID or proof of service required. More.

Applebee's is also urging the public to express their own thanks to veterans and troops at ThankYouMovement.com. Veterans and active duty troops can also visit the site to see the heartfelt thanks of the people they serve. Grammy Award-winning musician Zac Brown is the 2012 Face of Applebee's Thank You Movement, the nation's largest ongoing military appreciation effort. WHEN: Sunday, Nov. 11 , 11 a.m. - midnight or later at all U.S. Applebee's restaurants!

Chili's is offering all military veterans past and present their choice of one of seven meals. This offer is available from 11am – 5pm on November 11, 2012 at participating Chili's in the U.S. only. Dine-in from limited menu only; beverages and gratuity not included. Veterans and active duty military simply show proof of military service. Locations.

Concentrics restaurants -- Monday, November 12. All locations will be offering complimentary entrees to all military personnel, with a valid military I.D. Participants include: One Midtown Kitchen, Two Urban Licks, TAP, Murphy's, LPC, Lobby Bar and Bistro, Room at Twelve, Flip – Howell Mill, Flip – Buckhead and HD1.

Denny's Veterans Day Appreciation Event, Nov. 12, 2012. Free, all you can eat pancakes from 6 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12 for all active, retirees, and veterans with a valid military ID or proof of military service. Offer available in every Denny's nationwide.

Golden Corral – Free meal (4 p.m. to 9 p.m.), Monday Nov. 12: Available to any person who has ever served in the United States Military. If you are a veteran, retired, currently serving, in the National Guard or Reserves, you are invited to participate in Golden Corral's Military Appreciation Monday dinner. Hooters – Free Meal, Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012. Offer is good for all veterans and active duty military personnel. Get 10 Free Wings – Boneless or Regular, drink purchase required. Krispy Kreme – Free doughnut, Nov. 11, 2012. Available only at participating Krispy Kreme stores. Offer available to all active-duty, retirees & veterans. Be sure to call ahead to verify your local Krispy Kreme is participating.

Little Caesars® Pizza, Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, is providing veterans and active military members with a free Crazy Bread® with proof of military status or proof of service at participating stores nationwide. Call ahead to verify participation. Find a location near you.

Lone Star Steakhouse, Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 -- All veterans and active duty military will receive a FREE entrée from their Stars & Stripes Menu. ID required, please call ahead for verification. Check for locations!

McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants – free meal, Sunday Nov 11, 2012: Veterans must provide proof of military service. Be sure to contact your local McCormick & Schmick's as this is valid at participating restaurants only. Also, space is limited and reservations are highly recommended. O'Charley's - Monday, November 12.  To thank them for their service, O'Charley's will offer veterans and active duty military personnel a complimentary meal off of their $9.99 menu.  The restaurant is also encouraging patrons to sign thank you banners located in the lobby of every restaurant to extend their appreciation to our servicemen and women.  Click here for more info.

Outback Steakhouse – A week of Free Bloomin' Onions and Cokes - Nov. 11-12, 2012 ONLY. Active duty military and veterans can get a free Bloomin' Onion and a Coca-Cola product. This offer is available to Military Personnel with ID. More information.

Red Lobster – Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012. Free Appetizer on Veterans Day with military ID or proof of service. Vets may choose from a select list of appetizers. Participating restaurants only! Find a location near you.

Red Robin, Monday, Nov. 12, 2012. Free Red's Tavern Double and Bottomless Steak Fries for all Red Robin guests with a military ID or proof of service. Participating restaurants only. Find a location near you.

Sizzler Restaurants, Nov. 12, 2012. Free lunch served until 4 pm. Choice of three entrees. Valid with proof of military service. More info and locations.

Texas Roadhouse – free lunch, Monday Nov. 12, 2012. Choose from one of 10 free meals, plus sides and a drink. Offer good for all veterans – including all active, retired or former U.S. military. ID Required. Find locations.

T.G.I. Friday's – Free Lunch (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.), Monday Nov. 12, 2012. Valid for all US Military personnel and veterans. Must wear uniform (if permitted by your service) or present military ID or other proof of service. Only valid at participating locations for anyone with an old or current military ID. The Olive Garden, Free entrée, Nov. 11, 2012. Offer is good for veterans and active duty military on Sunday during regular business hours. Twin Peaks - is serving up a special ‘Thank You' to Veterans during its annual Armed Forces Appreciation event! In honor of Veteran's Day, the ultimate man-cave sports lodge known for its homemade comfort food and 29-degree draft beer will be treating all service men and women to a free meal, Sunday, Nov. 11 and Monday, Nov. 12. 7-Eleven – Free small Slurpee on Sunday, Nov. 11 from 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Offer good to all current and former military members. ID or proof of service required.

Home Improvement:

Home Depot Military Discount: Home Depot is offering all active duty personnel, reservists, retired military, veterans and their families a 10 percent discount off their purchases in honor of Veteran's Day. The offer is valid on purchases of up to $2,000 for a maximum of $200 and is available at The Home Depot stores, The Home Depot Design Center locations, Yardbirds and EXPO Design Center(R) locations. The 10% military discount is available everyday for active duty and retirees, but not all veterans. Home Depot makes this offer available to all veterans on most military holidays.

Lowe's Military Discount is available to all active, reserve, honorably discharged, retired military personnel and their immediate family members a 10 percent discount on in-store U.S. purchases made during the Veterans Day holiday.

Entertainment:

Fee Free Day at National Parks. Areas managed by the National Park Service will not charge entrance fees for Veterans Day weekend – November 10-12, 2012. Everyone is eligible, not just veterans. Over 100 national Parks will be participating in this event.

Retail Discounts:

Big Lots – November 10, Ten percent off your entire purchase. Offer available to active duty, Guard/Reserve, veterans, retirees and their immediate family members, with valid ID. Please call ahead to verify.

Dollar General - 11 percent discount for online purchases from Nov. 8 through the 10th. In store good only on the 11th. More info.
