Senoia the stage for The Walking Dead

Posted: Updated:

There were watch parties in the small town of Senoia on Sunday to see their hometown on television.

Their Main Street is now the most famous street for zombie fanatics despite the signs being different.

AMC's The Walking Dead calls it Woodbury, but it really is the town of Senoia in Coweta County. The town made its official debuted Sunday.

Millions of fans of the post-apocalyptic zombie chronicle watched around the world which man mean a flock of the faithful may soon make their way to town.

Senoia has been the background for the show for two seasons, but after a summer of shooting scenes on Main Street, the actual town and its streets are now the backdrop.

Details such as the grass being uncut, the flower beds overgrown, and litter left in place were common during the summer shoot.

This is not the first time Senoia has turn itself into a stage. The setting has been in more than 25 motion pictures and television shows since the 1980s. Still, none of those have drawn as many fans to the filming locations like The Walking Dead.
