Fire officials battle 2-alarm fire at Atlanta restaurant

ATLANTA -

A fire at a northwest Atlanta restaurant which prompted a two-alarm response could have been worse according to fire officials.

A spokesperson with the Atlanta Fire Department told FOX 5 News that they responded to a fire alarm at the Salsa Havana located at 1971 Howell Mill Road around 9:30 p.m. Sunday. The found the area around the kitchen fully involved when they arrived.

They worked for about 45 minutes to knock down the flames. The fire caused moderate damage to the restaurant and minor damage to a neighboring business.

A second alarm was struck due to the nature of the fire, but was not fully utilized.

No one was injured during the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
