The controversial billboard appearing to show Adolph Hitler endorsing President Barack Obama for re-election has been taken down.
Even while speeding by at 65 miles an hour, northbound drivers on Georgia 400 couldn't help but notice the electronic billboard that campaigned against the President.
The billboard features a picture of Adolph Hitler, a hammer and sickle – the symbol of communism – and the words "Comrade Obama."
Tom McElroy was moved to pull over and record it on his smart phone.
"It was very important for me to get this video. I like to gather archival information about this election because of its importance," said McElroy.
McElroy supports Mitt Romney for president, but says the Hitler billboard is an obvious cry for attention.
"Comparing anyone to Hitler in this country is not an accurate comparison," said McElroy.
However, he does see a connection between the president and the man Americans died to free the world from in World War II.
"Adolph Hitler was the head of the National Socialist Party in Germany. So, there is a connection between President Obama's leaning - very well-documented leanings toward socialism," said McElroy.
But not everyone who passes this billboard agrees with its message. One voter said she was undecided before passing this billboard.
"When I saw that, although I had pretty much had made up my mind, that certainly made me completely confirmed about what my decision was going to be," said Marianne Higgins.
Higgins takes issue with people who call the President a socialist, and says the programs he supports benefit all Americans.
"They want their Medicare, they want their Social Security and what have you. It's been in place for years to come and I don't think it's necessarily fair to compare it to a socialist regime," said Higgins.
Revelation Outdoor Management owns the billboard. The company took down the Hitler image while FOX 5 was shooting this story.
Company president Morgan Hudgens All News 106.7's Trey Thomas on the phone, "we're not out there to offend people and so we removed it."
Hudgens wouldn't reveal who paid to put the billboard up or say if his company put it up itself.
