The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://bit.ly/TaK0nv ) reports that 19-year-old Akshay Panducherry died Wednesday at Grady Memorial Hospital. Panducherry suffered burns that covered more than 80% of his body.
Alpharetta Department of Public Safety spokesman George Gordon says Panducherry was heading east in a red Ferrari on Webb Bridge Road shortly before 4 a.m. on Oct. 19 when the car crash occurred in Alpharetta.
Gordon says Panducherry and his 21-year-old cousin Harshavardhan Patlolla who was the passenger were able to climb out of the vehicle but suffered second- and third-degree burns.
Patlolla is still hospitalized.
Gordon says authorities know that a high speed rate contributed to the crash.
