Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal and Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed had differing views on the final presidential debate.
Gov. Deal, a conservative, said Republican nominee Mitt Romney proved that "he could be presidential."
"He was not as confrontational as perhaps some people would have liked to have seen him be, but I think he's now established throughout the debate process that he possesses the characteristics and background," said Deal.
Mayor Reed, who has been a visible supporter of President Obama, said the race will be decided in the Electoral College with a handful of swing states. He said that while he wishes Georgia was one of those deciding states, advocates of the President can travel to show their support.
"There are cars, buses, trains and automobiles. Folks can help the President of the United States by going to Florida, which I have done, by going to Cleveland, which I will do this week," Reed said.
Ohio is considered one of the biggest swing states.
Deal said that he's glad Georgia residents are being spared from being bombarded with the nonstop political ads found in swing states.
Already 53,000 people have voted in the national election in Fulton County. Early voting could mean record turnout across the state.
