COBB COUNTY, Ga. -
Hundreds of people turned out on Friday for early voting in Cobb County.
SkyFOX 5 showed a line stretched out the door well after the voting office closed at 5 p.m. on Friday. Officials let anyone still in line cast their votes.
Janine Eveler, the director of the Board of Elections in Cobb County, said that an average of 1,400 people a day have been casting their ballots since early voting started on Monday. She said that Friday was "probably our busiest day."
According to Eveler, presidential elections usually get the largest turnouts. In addition to President Barack Obama facing off against Mitt Romney, this year's election also includes local, state and county races as well as a state charter school amendment vote.
"I think people are very excited about this election," said Eveler.
Early voting continues next week at the Cobb Civic Center. That location will be open until Saturday.
Nine locations open for early voting in Cobb County on Oct. 29. For the current locations for early voting and the latest wait times, go to Cobb County Elections website at cobbelections.org.
Any registered voter can take advantage of early voting in Georgia. Voters need to make sure to have a government issued ID, like a passport or driver's license. Hours and locations for advance voting will vary from county-to-county.
