Victim of Marietta college shooting identified

MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - Marietta police have identified the shooting victim after shots were fired at Southern Polytechnic State University that caused a campus lockdown.

Police spokesman David Baldwin says the shooting victim was identified Wednesday as 23-year-old commuter student Jason Moore of Cobb County. Baldwin says Moore received non-life threatening gunshot wound during Tuesday night's incident at the university located in a greater Atlanta suburb.

Police are still seeking a suspect who fired shots during an altercation with another person in a back parking lot at the college.

Authorities described the shooting on the Cobb County campus as an isolated incident. The lockdown lasted some two hours while police conducted precautionary checks of buildings.

Baldwin says the altercation involved only those two people and was an isolated incident.
