With just weeks before the presidential election, Republicans and Democrats are working to turn out the vote in Georgia.
Local Republicans are planning a rally Sunday for Republican candidate Mitt Romney in Woodstock. Event coordinator Lori Pesta tells the Cherokee Tribune that supporters can bring blankets and lawn chairs to the get-out-the-vote rally.
The keynote speaker is Attorney General Sam Olens, the chairman of Romney's Georgia campaign. Georgia Sens. Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson are expected to attend.
Meanwhile, President Barack Obama's campaign will send volunteers Sunday from Georgia to help with voter outreach in the battleground state of Florida. It will also be running local phone banks to contact voters and canvassing residents in Cobb County.
