Gainesville hosting 'Mule Camp Market' on Sunday

Posted: Updated:
GAINESVILLE, Ga. -

More than 75,000 people are expected in downtown Gainesville for this weekend's annual Mule Camp Festival.

The event draws vendors and features country and bluegrass musicians in the north Georgia city.

The Gainesville Times reports that the event plays on Gainesville's old name, Mule Camp Springs.

It started off as a curbside farmer's market and later evolved into the Corn Tassel Festival. After the Gainesville Jaycees began sponsoring the event in 1993, the name was changed and the festival became Hall County's largest annual event.
