EAST POINT, Ga. -
An East Point special counsel voted to recommend a formal reprimand of Mayor Earnestine Pittman for ethics violations on Friday.
A judge recently ruled the mayor was guilty of seven violations connected with vetoes she made. One included a compensation package to a city worker. Another was the veto of legislation in which she had a conflict of interest.
Recently, when it was recommended Pittman be suspended without pay for 60 days, the city attorney said it was not an option.
The mayor has dismissed the judge's ruling.
During Monday's regular council meeting, the full council will vote on whether to reprimand her.
