GAINESVILLE, Ga. -

A Marine was welcomed back to his high school on Friday after being injured while fighting in Afghanistan.

Lance Cpl. Sean Adams was named honorary captain of the Chestatee High football team and presented the coin toss.

The 2011 graduate who played on the field just last season was honored as he took the field.

Adams was seriously injured when he stepped on an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan earlier this year and received a Purple Heart for his service.
