Bishop-elect Reverend Rob Wright
ATLANTA -
FOX 5 talked with Bishop-elect Reverend Rob Wright on the eve of his landmark ordination to become the first African-American bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta.
The bishop-elect started his life in an orphanage in Pittsburgh and is a graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C. He's served as the rector of Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Atlanta for the past 10 years.
Here he recently joined others in a mission to wash the feet of Atlanta homeless.
Wright chose former U.N. Ambassador Andrew Young as Saturday's keynote speaker.
Bishop-elect Wright will be ordained Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel at Morehouse College. He also noted the symbolism of the ceremony taking place at the alma mater of Dr. King.
