Rochelle Mosley and her clients chatted it up in her beauty parlor, Salon 804. The hot topic was breast cancer awareness.
"I really want women to be aware of what's available 'cause I really do feel like knowing is growing," she said.
Mosley came up with the idea to give her clients pink hair extensions after her friend battled breast cancer. With October being breast cancer awareness month, she says the pink hair is a hit, especially with older clientele.
"I did the strand on a 65-year-old woman, she was going to a party, 'Oh my God my hair was the life of the party girl, thank you thank you thank you,'" Mosley said. "When you're seeing 50- and 60-year-old women and they're having a little tale in the back, it's going to inspire younger people to ask."
Aside from that, Mosley said it has already inspired deep conversation at the salon.
"Just get your mammogram, self-exam and just know that it's real and it's touching our loved ones," one client said.
You might be wondering how Rochelle gets the pink into her client's hair. She doesn't dye it, but glues it in or braids it in.
