Early voting begins in Georgia on Monday, and will continue for the next three weeks. Special polling places in all the state's counties will allow voters to cast ballots until the Friday before Election Day.
The state saw big crowds during advance voting four years ago and heavy turnout is expected for this presidential election.
"It's a very good service for voters. A lot of people are either not available on Election Day, or they just prefer to make their choices early. So it just gives people an option," said Janine Eveler, Cobb County's elections director.
Voters in Cobb County told FOX 5 that they plan to utilize the early voting option, which will include one day of Saturday voting on October 27.
"It's less crowded and I don't have to wait in line very long. It's just very well-organized," said Jo Fitch.
Hours and locations for advance voting will vary in each county.
At first, Cobb County will have early voting only at the elections office headquarters at the West Park Government Center on Whitlock Avenue. Other locations will open later, including at the Cobb Civic Center.
Eveler said that voters can expect some lines. She said that they will post wait times on their website.
While the presidential race gets most of the attention, Georgia voters will decide state Senate and House races and other issues, including the proposed charter schools amendment.
