Cobb County school officials say a boiler underneath one of the buildings at Fitzhugh Lee School in Smyrna exploded on Wednesday, causing some windows to break.

School officials say students were evacuated to a filed while maintenance crews checked on the damage. After a short time students were allowed back in class.

It is unclear what caused the boiler to explode.

There were no injuries.
