ATLANTA -

Atlanta police and fire crews rushed to the scene of a fire that apparently sparked under an overpass near the Georgia Dome on Tuesday afternoon.  The blaze reportedly started at a homeless camp near Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive and Mangum Street.

Both MLK and Mangum were closed until fire crews were able to put out the blaze.

Despite that, a portion of the Mitchell Street Bridge was shut down while an engineer assesses it for possible damage.  Atlanta fire officials said it could be reopened Tuesday night or Wednesday.

Cadaver dogs were also called in to the area because it is a place where homeless people sleep.  The dogs were being used as a precaution, according to fire officials, as no one had been reported missing.
