Farm turned to obstacle course for good cause

Posted: Updated:

A local family is turning its farm into a giant obstacle course to help feed other local families.

The Muck Run is a 5K race that takes runners through woods, creeks and mud pits.

This will be the third year for the run, which this year will also feature a Halloween theme.

Organizers say turning the 430-acre farm near commerce into an obstacle course is fun, but it's also for a worthy cause.

"We've got a partnership with the Northeast Georgia Food Bank, and we ask everyone to bring some food when the show up and we pile it all up and they can bring money of food, anything they can do to feed the hungry in our neighborhoods," said Carolee Coker, marketing director of the event.

The Muck Run is open to all ages and takes place on October 20.
