Officials closed Hickory Flat Highway near I-575 in Canton for several hours Monday after a tractor-trailer overturned.
Canton police said the tractor-trailer was traveling down a hill when the driver lost control and flipped onto its side. The truck's load of garbage was dumped into the road.
Hickory Flat Highway was closed for a few hours during the clean up, but it had been reopened as of 3 p.m.
Paramedics took the driver to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
