ATLANTA -
The Georgia Department of Transportation is about to embark on an ambitious new plan to replace its road signage program in metro Atlanta.
GDOT spokesman Mark McKinnon told All News 106.7's Connie Cummings that a lot of old interstate signs will be replaced by new signs made of more reflective "diamond-grade" material.
If drivers notice a problem with a sign, they are encouraged to contact GDOT.
There has not been a lot of research done into accidents caused by poor signage, but anecdotal evidence suggests it is a factor, according to Dr. Susan Chrysler of the National Advanced Driver Simulator at the University of Iowa.
