Special prosecutor gets case involving DeKalb commissioner

Posted: Updated:
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -

The drinking and driving case involving a DeKalb County commissioner is now in the hands of a special prosecutor.

FOX 5's I-Team was first to show you videos of DeKalb Commissioner Stan Watson cussing and threatening bar owners and police right before he got in his car and drove off.

Police thought the commissioner was drinking and driving, but did not arrest him.

Now, at the request of the DeKalb solicitor, Attorney General Sam Olens has appointed the Prosecuting Attorney's Council of Georgia as special prosecutor.

The council will review the evidence and determine if any charges can be brought.

Commissioner Watson has told us he wants it all behind him and has apologized for his behavior back in July.
