Winder police say woman hoarded hundreds of stolen items

Posted: Updated:

Charges are stacking up against a woman police say stole hundreds of items and then hoarded them.

Twelve north Georgia law enforcement agencies are investigating hundreds of burglaries in eight different counties.

Winder police said they recovered hundreds of items from the home of Raemondo Lee Inscho. Police photos of the suspect's house show stolen credit cards, gift cards, and lots of electronics.

Detective Rachel Love of the Winder Police Department says Inscho took most of these items from cars across north Georgia.

"Pulling on door handles of vehicles, entering through the ones that were unlocked," said Love.

Police say Inscho was captured near the parking lot of a YMCA in Winder when one of the members found her cell phone in his car.

"She came to get her phone, rushed into the Y said, ‘this is my phone,' snatched it and tried to run away. And he, in turn, held her until the police arrival," said Love.

A lot of the stolen goods were found stashed with things that helped police track down the rightful owners.

"When you have things like driver's license and things of that nature, they obviously have the person's name and address on them. So we're able to contact the people in that way," said Love.

Inscho told police she had fallen on hard times and was stealing to support her family.

"She has a child and that she was stealing these things to feed her children," said Love.

Methamphetamine was also found in her home, so now she faces also narcotics charges in addition to the dozens of theft cases against her.

Winder police say Inscho told them she was working alone. She has been cooperating with their investigation. She even drove around with detectives to point out locations she has burglarized.
