DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -
DeKalb County's top educator delivered her state of the system address at Tucker High School on Tuesday.
The district faces several challenges, including an inquiry from the accrediting agency, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, about allegations of school board interference and mismanagement.
Superintendent Dr. Cheryl Atkinson assured parents the district is committed to satisfying all of SACS requirements.
SACS has notified DeKalb officials that it plans to send a team for an investigative visit October 17 to the 19th.
