New judge takes bench on Savannah juvenile court

Posted: Updated:
SAVANNAH, Ga. -

A new judge is now presiding at a juvenile court in Savannah.

Judge Patricia Parker Stone recently became the court's presiding judge. Her predecessor, Judge John W. Beam Jr., stepped down from the post Friday after 32 years and will become a senior judge starting Monday.

Stone said Friday that court's work is important and could not be done without community support.

The Savannah Morning News reports that Lisa Goldwire Colbert will become the court's newest judge.
