Officials: All potentially rabid kittens found

MCDONOUGH, Ga. -

Henry County Animal Control officials say they now have all the kittens from a cat which tested positive for rabies.

The four kittens were being given away in the parking lot of the McDonough Walmart on September 9.  One of the kittens became ill and scratched someone during an examination at a vet clinic.

Veterinarians had to euthanize it and it later tested positive for rabies.

Saturday, officials say that three of the kittens and their mother have tested positive for the rabies virus. The fourth kitten will be tested this week.

They remind all pet owners to make sure their animals are current with their vaccinations to prevent them from contracting the virus.
