Homicide detectives were called after a body was discovered in southwest Atlanta on Thursday.
A man stumbled on the body inside an abandoned warehouse at the 1100 block of Sylvan Road near Avon Avenue.
Authorities said the body was a man who died of blunt force trauma to the head.
"Very suspicious. Of course there are other reasons that could cause trauma to the head, but at this point, we can't determine what may have caused the damage so we're working the scene as if it is a homicide," said Lt. Paul Guerrucci of the Atlanta Police Department.
The man's identity has not been determined. He was approximately 40 years old, according to police.
