The Consul General of France in Atlanta presented 12 World War II veterans with the Legion of Honor on Thursday.
The award recognizes eminent services to the French republic and expresses France's eternal gratitude to the servicemen who help liberate the country from oppression 67 years ago.
The Legion of Honor is the highest honor in France.
