A rental car company is posting a reward for the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for killing one of their employees.

Police say Monique Marlowe was shot and killed behind the Hertz Rent-a-Car facility on Satellite Boulevard near the Gwinnett County Transit Center last Friday evening while cleaning out one of the vehicles. She died at the hospital, but not before giving a brief description of the man.

Hertz has put up $25,000 reward in hopes of generating any leads in the shooting.

Marlowe's parents said that the University of Georgia honors graduate always stood out as a scholar, a musician and an athlete.

"That was just a burning desire in her…to be the best that she could be," said Dan Marlowe.

Cpl. Jake Smith of the Gwinnett County Police Department said that robbery was the likely motive in the shooting.

The shooting occurred between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. just 50 yards away from a busy bus stop.  Police plan to canvass the area on Friday.

"Somebody in the area likely heard or saw something. Maybe they don't even realize that it was important that they saw it. But if anybody was in the area and saw or heard anything out of the ordinary, we would love to talk to those people," said Smith.

Anyone who might have been in the area on September 22nd or knows anything about the incident should contact the Gwinnett County Police Department.
