St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital has been given permission to begin construction work on the site of a new Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro.
The Athens Banner-Herald reports that St. Mary's received a permit this week from Greene County that allows contractors to grade, fill and level the hospital site and its accompanying driveways and utility corridors.
The two-story, 75,000-square-foot facility is being built on Lake Oconee Parkway between Carey Station Road and Westlake Road.

A judge has sentenced Michael Parson to the maximum of 35 years in jail for the attempted murder of his wife. On Thursday, Parson was convicted of shooting his wife, Adina, eight times in 2012.
