2 kittens linked to rabies scare located, 2 remain unfound

Posted: Updated:

Henry County Animal Control officials said that the person who gave away kittens linked to a rabies scare has come forward.

The kittens were given away in the parking lot of the McDonough Walmart.

One of the kittens became ill and scratched someone during an examination at a vet clinic.

Veterinarians had to euthanize it and it later tested positive for rabies.

Vince Farah of the Henry County Animal Control says they now know that four kittens were initially given away. They've accounted for two of them and there are still two out there believed to be  infected with rabies.

Farah says the person scratched by the kitten did not have to undergo rabies treatment.
