Cobb County police say a bicyclist was hit by a vehicle early Wednesday morning, and the driver did not stop. It happened just after 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Canton and Piedmont roads in Marietta.
A witness said that the driver hit the bicyclist from behind and kept going. Investigators are continuing to search for that person.
Police say the rider was struck by a dark colored compact car that should have damage on the right passenger side, fender and hood.
The bicyclist, identified as 49-year-old Anthony Dixon, was listed in critical condition on Wednesday afternoon.
Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact police.
