DeKalb eliminating recycling registration fees

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -

DeKalb County is eliminating the $30 registration fee for curbside recycling, making it free for all families.

The DeKalb County Commission made the unanimous decision on Tuesday in hopes of encouraging more people to recycle.

The goal is increase residential recycling from 21 percent to 40 percent by 2016, or approximately 64,000 homes.
